Like yin and yang, good and evil is a constant, there will always be good an evil upon the earth, and a little good and evil in all of us as well.
This of course is for the Wacom 2009 "Bring your vision to Life" contest.
I did the base of the image on a Wacom Cintiq monitor, using Art Rage. Art Rage is a super cool free paint application. The Water color tool, works just like real water colors, the paints mix until they dry, and you have a water cup icon, that you have to dip your brush into when your paint brush goes dry.
Then I added some enhancement in Photoshop, such as the background, blurs, glows and text.
I probably won't win, but I'm still happy how it came out. It's exactly how I envisioned what I was going to do.
I like the overall concept and the brush work. The yin-yang and dresses look like they are painted with watercolours but I dont see the concept of "evil." I guess instead of a colour change I would get to evil if the girl had a menacing look or some feature that would give me the impression of evil. I hope I am clear? LOL
Art Rage's tools are really cool, giving the effect of real watercolors. Best of all it's a free application.
As for the evil, I know what you mean, however I wanted to point out that looks can be misleading, also it's the idea that a little good and evil is in all of us, that's why it's supposed to look like the same girl.
