Hello I’m Akram Taghavi-Burris. I’ve has worked for over 6 years as a Multimedia professional. My strength are in web design, Flash animation, photo editing and 3D modeling. Currently I hold a position as full time faculty at the Oklahoma City Community College where I teach Computer Aided Technology, with the emphasis in Multimedia and Game Design.
As an educator I am dedicated to giving the help and direction students need to learn their topic. I don’t have all the answers but I strive in finding them and helping students learn how to find them as well.

Adobe Photoshop has recently started a contest to find the next Photoshop evangelist. A Photoshop evangelist is basically a guru who promotes Photoshops through, presentations, tutorials and such. As a professor in graphics at PSU, I use Photoshop on a daily basis, and it's one of my favorite software as well. Naturally when I found out about the contest I knew I wanted to be the next Photoshop evangelist.

In the mist of chaos

In the mist of chaos, is the state in which I currently am at. I haven't posted to deviant since April, which is mainly due to the chaos that I fell into at the start of May. I received a job offer from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas to teach web design.
Well, I accepted it and every since then I have been supper busy, with finding a house, packing and getting all my content to OCCC before I leave for good. Needless to say I am still in the middle of packing and only recently finished packing my OCCC office.

Well, deviantArt readers, it's been a long time since I've written anything here, or uploaded anything for that matter.
I've been supper busy this semester.
First I was named a a 2011 DaVinci Fellow by the DaVinci Institute. Apparently, I was nominated by the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Oklahoma City Community College, where I currently work. The award indicated that I have received this honor in recognition of my ground-breaking work in computer gaming and computer animation.
